Depressed or constipated frilled dragon

I had a frilled dragon which I later gifted to my niece. The
owner I bought it from gave me full housing, feeding and
care instructions which worked pretty well. I put it in a
cage of about 5 feet high and 4 feet wide. I decorated the
cage with some rocks and sand. However, I left it with a
close friend while I was traveling abroad. When I came back,
a week later, I noticed it had become extra lazy, not
basking as often , eating less and having less bowel
movements. I thought it?s depressed and a neighbor advised
me to play some music for it! I used to let some music
playing for hours daily but nothing helped. Some other pet
owners advised me to give him some applesauce and to add few
drops of olive oil to his food to relieve his constipation.
Well, it worked an mouse d regulated his bowel but still he seemed
depressed. Finally I went to that same pet owner I got it
from and bought a female frilled dragon. I arranged for a
bigger cage and now the two of them are super active and
seem quite healthy. Lesson learned, even pets need company.
Now my niece enjoys caring about both of the frilled
dragons.
