Red crested gecko escape!

Being the mother of 2 sons has given me many memories to
share with the world. This one in particular is about
Daniel, the eldest of the two boys. Throughout his childhood years he has begged for lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles and anything else within those species that makes mothers scream when they get out of their cage. The answer was always" No!
No! No! wait till your're grown". At 20 he moved to that first apartment, just he and his 2 red Crested Geckos, Bud
and Weiser. Their home was the typical 20 gallon aquarium
with lighted hood, warming rock, crickets and all. Getting
them to the apartment was no challenge, cleaning their cage
solo was a differnt story. He didn't have all the basics
that his mother had at home, such as another tank to put
them in and someone else to help him while he cleaned the
dirty one. He knew what to do, he would put them in his
suitcase, that nice large piece of luggage that his mother
bought him for the senior trip.

After cleaning awhile, going
to the store, cleaning awhile, watching TV, cleaning awhile,
running to get crickets, he was finally finished. Now, to
put Bud and Weiser in the clean, fresh tank. There's Weiser
and now to get Bud. Where's Bud? Bud had escaped, somehow,
he was gone. An entire, move all the furniture, go through
drawers, apartment search was done. Still no Bud. Four
months went by without one sighting of Bud. Gone forever in
our minds, until I went to help stock my starving son's
refrigerator, while he was at work. I think I was putting
lunch meat in the deli bin, when out from under the
refrigerator came this dark brown almost black red crested
Gecko scrurring in between my feet. Bud had returned, a
completely different color and somewhat thinner, but he had
returned.

Missing Reptiles NEW
by: Lilly

I had a snake do this to me! I have a ball python named Ichabod, and he escaped 2 years ago. I was getting ready to bomb my house [I had just gotten a puppy, and he had brought ticks into our home] so I held the snake for a bit, put him back in his tank, and then went to get something, came back, and put the tank out on the back porch. After the bombing was complete, I set up a new, larger cage for him, and went and got the tank to re-home the snake, only to find he wasn't there. We searched everywhere outside, and I simply assumed he was gone, and that I had just lost my baby ball.

6 weeks later, I get a phone call from my roomate while at my boyfriend's family celebration saying "Guess who just crawled out from under the refrigerator? He's cold, and he's thin, but he's alive!"

It took me a year to properly fatten him up, but now he's 2 feet long and eating rats, so all in all, I'd say he made an excellent recovery. I guess being under the fridge so close to the floor saved him from the toxic fumes.

On another note, I have a Crested Gecko as well, who escaped 2 nights ago [don't ask me how my reptiles continue to escape locked cages] so I simply left the cage open, and he came back when I was out of the room. I found this whilst Google searching if this was a common occurrence. Anyway, have a nice day :D
