Wild iguana story

My family lives in Southern Arizona, and every once in a while we will see an iguana in the wild. My children always want to take home every iguana we see. So, one day I told my kids that we would try to "catch" an iguana by a local wash area that is frequented by some medium size iquanas. We had a small dog
crate and some food to lure the iquana to us. However, after trying to catch two different iguanas, we found out that this strategy was definitely not going to work. So, feeling defeated, we began walking to the car. To my astonishment, we came across an iguana that looked like he may have lost a fight to another animal.

My kids wanted to nurse the iguana back to health so we easily coaxed it into the dog crate we brought with us. After doing hours of research online we started slowly feeding the iquana and nursing it back to health. Eventually, after about four months, the iguana seemed in perfect health. He only got loose in the house twice, but two times was more than enough. We all decided we should
take the iguana back to the wild. So, we eventually took the iguana back to the wash area where we found him, and he scurried away the instant we released him. I feel good knowing we helped the poor guy out.
