bearded dragon diet

hello, I just adopted a juvenile beardie from one of my friends a few weeks ago. I had no idea how to keep care of a beardie, so I started reading books, care sheets, and websites to find out how to keep my beardie happy and healthy. BeautifulDragons.com has a great chart on what to feed, and what not to feed your dragon. Things to watch out for in fruits and veggies are phosphates, goitrogens, and vitamin A. Out of all the research I have done, the best staple foods for your dragon are collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, spaghetti squash, and papaya. You may feed your dragon other fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, mango, and apples but be sure not to feed too frequently. Dragons also love carrots, but Ive read that carrots should be fed as a treat due to high amounts of vitamin A. stay away from acidic foods such as tomatoes, oranges, and grapefruits. stick to these guidelines and your beardie should live a happy healthy life.
