I would take him to a vet that has experience with reptiles. What's the temps
of his basking spot? It should be around 105F to 110F. You need to get a temp gun or have a thermometer to make sure the temps are good. What's the UVB bulb? A good UVB bulb is the Reptisun 10.0 UVB. Does he have a couple of
hides, one on the cool side and one on the hot? They need hides to de-stress. Baby beardies need a lot of protein, -they should be eating roughly 50 pinhead crickets per day. I would advise against using pellets for food, they should
be getting the hard greens everyday (dandelion, turnip, collard, mustard).

Pellets don't work for bearded dragons
by: Steve

My bearded dragon is about 2 and 1/2 and has never liked those pellets. I don't bother with them at all. You should try other foods, I tend to get spring mix with arugula and kale and pick out the spinach (spinach in high doses can make your bearded dragon sick and cause bone problems) and live crickets. T-Rex also makes a great dehydrated food mix that bearded dragons seem to love, and it has both freeze dried wax worms and veggies like bell peppers and peas in it. Just add hot water, let it cool down, then drain it out and serve. Easy to find stuff comes in little trial size packets that make 3 servings and big containers if your dragon likes it. Live crickets are king though, nothing makes my bearded dragon happier than a bunch of live crickets. Don't feed only crickets of course. If live crickets are too much for you there are freeze dried crickets available too that my bearded dragon likes, he just likes to hunt better.

BEARDIES LIKE LIVE PREY!!
by: Anonymous

Try feeding your lizard live food like crickets and occasionally meal worms. It's best to allow them to hunt. I rarely see my juvenile eating pellets. If this doesn't work take him/her to the vet!

picky eaters

My 5 month old beardie also doesn't eat alot of greens, in fact, if she can't chase it down she isn't interested. My vet (20 years experience with reptiles) told me that as long as she is eating plenty of protein dusted with multivitamins and calcium, that she will be fine. Just make sure you provide the greens. I use zoomeds canned juvenile beardie food, it has fruits and veggies, I leave a teaspoon or so in her cage during the day and have caught her nibbling on it a few times. Just make sure to remove it before bedtime and clean the food dish.
